THIS is what Compaq calls ``a breakthrough in PC design to best fit your home and lifestyle" - the Presario 3000 series.
The fold-down TFT display flat screen, the 166MHz Pentium processor, the 24MB EDO memory/2GB hard drive, the 33.6kbps inbuilt fax/modem, the full-duplex speakerphone, the JBL pro stereo speakers, the 4-disk autoload CD changer, the cordless mouse . . . and the ability to pick it up and carry it around the house. These are just some of the features that say, ``I must have it".
If you really, really must have it, you'll have to wait.
It's not available yet in Australia. Or you could fly to the United States, where you can pick one up for $US3499. Expect the local price to be somewhat higher than a straight currency conversion.
